There are mystical and spiritual properties when the banana is discussed from a healthy perspective. In every corner of the globe the banana is held in high esteem when the healing properties are discussed. From a medical and scientific aspect the banana is able to help regulate and control numerous illnesses and conditions. During ancient times the banana was considered the fruit of the Gods and helped to produce energy and knowledge. Cultures have worshiped the healing power and medicinal power of the banana since the beginning of time. Today we will try to demystify the magical and mystical power of a banana, and determine from a scientific perspective the healthy attributes of the banana.

Bananas contain three natural sugars -sucrose, fructose, and glucose combined with fiber gives an instant sustained boost of energy. In order to help people who are suffering from depression eating a banana would make them feel better. Bananas contain "tryptophan" which is a protein that converts into serotonin, which helps a person to relax and improve their mood. A case study was done on 200 students during their exams and eating a banana for breakfast or a snack helped to boost their brain power. It has been proven that when athletes eat two bananas they receive a substantial boost of energy for a strenuous 90-minute workout. Women who suffer from "PMS" should eat a banana that contains B6, and regulates blood glucose levels which can improve their mood. This first paragraph should verify the magical and mystical fruit of the Gods, but I am just getting started.

The minerals, vitamins, and healing properties makes this natural remedy defy medical science and puts this fruit in an elite class. Bananas are high in B vitamins that help calm the nervous system. They are extremely high in potassium, low in salt, and helps regulate high blood pressure and strokes. Potassium is a vital mineral, which helps normalize the heartbeat, sends oxygen to the brain, and regulates the body's water balance. Our metabolic rate rises when we are stressed, and can be rebalanced when we eat a high-potassium banana for a snack. Bananas can also help people trying to stop smoking, because B6, B12, potassium, and magnesium help the body recover from nicotine withdrawal. Bananas are high in iron and can stimulate the production of "haemoglobin" in blood which helps cases of anemia. In many culture the banana is thought as the "cooling fruit" that lower the physical and emotional temperature of expectant mothers. In many cultures around the world the banana is eaten at every meal because a banana can be fixed so many different ways.

The banana is high in fiber and can restore normal bowel action without resorting to laxatives. Snacking on a banana between meals helps a pregnant women regulate blood sugar levels, and avoid morning sickness. One of the quickest ways to cure a hangover is to make a banana milkshake sweetened with honey. The banana calms the stomach, the honey builds up depleted blood sugar levels, and the milk re-hydrates the system. Rubbing a mosquito bite with the inside of a banana skin reduces swelling and irritation. The banana is the only raw fruit that can be eaten for intestinal disorders, and reduces irritation by coating the lining of the stomach.

The magical properties of this unique fruit based on the list that I have started makes the banana an amazing and powerful healthy fruit. The world is justified when the medical and scientific scholars present evidence of the elite class that the banana ranks. The magical attributes are a reality and extraordinary when we think of the cost of a banana for our health. But the banana has other magical properties when we begin to study the global and political implications of the power of a banana. Tomorrow we will change the focus of the banana so we can better be informed. I never thought eating a banana could create a global and political controversy.

The purpose of this series is to develop a discussion and dialog on the magic of the banana. Share your story or comment on the magic or your healthy experience with the banana.
